The Common Core Standards Initiative is a state-led effort coordinated by the National Governors Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers. These standards were adopted in 2010 and were designed in collaboration with teachers, school administrators and experts to provide a consistent framework to prepare our students for college and the workforce. Common Core State Standards are internationally benchmarked and have been adopted by the majority of states across the nation.

San Bernardino City Unified School District is applying a phase-in process. Full implementation will occur in the 2014-2015 school year.
